5 commonly overlooked business insurance vulnerabilities

Business
Smart business owners have business insurance, no matter how big or small their company is. But do you have all the coverage you need? Here are five places where business owners often find themselves lacking in insurance coverage. Image via Unsplash.

1. Severe weather. Traditional property insurance typically doesn’t cover flooding, and the recent uptick in extreme weather incidents makes more businesses vulnerable.

2. Cyber and technology protection. Special insurance can cover identity and financial data theft, privacy policy violations, cyber extortion, transfer fraud and data restoration.

3. Equipment coverage. Expensive business assets require added protection, like you would for fine jewelry with your homeowners policy.

4. Remote work. Protect office equipment, general liability, specific liability, workers compensation and other needs for a WFH model.

5. Personal vehicles for business use. An accident likely wouldn’t be covered by a personal auto policy.
